It's been a sad winter... freezing temperatures, not much rain. I'm not used to having to water when it's so cold! My garlic has survived and seems to be fine. I've been adding layers of mulch to it periodically, mainly when I mow and get those leaves all chopped up.
My lemons and oranges seem to have survived. A few lemons on the outside of the trees froze and fell off. The others are okay but lacking in juice. However, they're still fantastic for cutting in half and stuffing in chickens to be roasted. And the zest is fine. I just need to juice about 3 times what I expect to get actual juice. My oranges are okay to eat and juice, but are lacking in tartness somehow. Still, I'm set for the season and am enjoying them and thankful I'm not depending on buying them. My poor little lime tree, which I just planted last fall, is lost I fear. We'll see. But I'm prepared for the worst. I had 2 limes on it but they froze and fell off...and it seems the main trunk is done as well but I'm waiting to see. Sometimes thing appear worse off than they are.
My parsley, amazingly enough, has survived. So I'm still making chimichurri sauce and adding fresh parsley to whatever I'm cooking. The rosemary is fine as well, but I never worry about it.
