New raised beds

I am behind in writing -- but no longer behind in gardening. Or just barely behind anyway.

I got my tomatoes transplanted in early April. In late April I planted peas, beans, cucumbers, and beets--all from seed. I've never grown beets before. Every year I like to try something new.

I also had two new raised beds built, about 8' x 4' x 12." They're now filled with fresh topsoil and compost so I can start planting. I put them around the far side of the house and think that will be my "messy" area, with sprawling things like pumpkins this year. Eventually I want to make that my berry section but I think I'm a little late. I need to go find out if I can still plant berries.
